OBJECTIVE: To develop a Secured Chat Server using the Socket Programming Concept.
DEVELOPMENT: Consider the following specifications:
1. The server should be able to handle all connections requested by any authenticated client.
2. Upon connection, each client must be authenticated through providing a secret password known to the server, i.e. CE466.
3. CHAP is the authentication protocol.
4. Any client has three trials to input a valid secret password before considered disconnected.
5. For each new connection, the server should display the client's IP address and login time.
6. Any client will be terminated once typing the word "Bye".
7. On client termination, the server should display a message indicating the client to be terminated and his logout time.
